Wow iPhone 4G Ada Fitur Kontrol Mimik Wajah

CALIFORNIA - Kecanggihan iPhone generasi terbaru, yaitu iPhone 4G terus terkuak. Walaupun sekedar isu, tentunya ini menjadi gambaran, seperti apa 'wajah' ponsel cerdas besutan Apple tersebut saat dirilis nanti. 

 

Yang terbaru ada rumor menyebutkan, perusahaan pimpinan Steve Jovs akan menanamkan fitur pengontrol aplikasi dengan menggunakan mimik wajah. Aplikasi yang kabarnya tengah dalam pengurusan paten tersebut, akan memanfaatkan gestur wajah dari jarak jauh untuk menggerakkan aplikasi di iPhone.

 

Dilansir melalui PR News, Senin (1/3/2010), salah satu fitur gerak mimik ini adalah, kemampuannya mengontrol telepon masuk ataupun keluar, hanya dengan sekali kedipan mata saja. Sehingga, pengguna iPhone 4G tidak perlu repot-repot menggangkat panggilan masuk. 

 

Tidak hanya itu, jika teknologi ini dipatenkan dan dibenamkan, fitur voicemail untuk rewind dan fast-forward hanya menggunakan kode-kode tertentu dengan gerak wajah saja. Bahkan rumor juga menyebutkan, scroll ke bawah dan ke atas, termasuk mengatur di iTunes library juga bisa menggunakan fitur gestur wajah ini.
Kendati demikian, rumor ini masih tetap kabar burung, seperti misteri iPhone 4G yang masih belum diketahui kapan akan dirilisnya, termasuk spesifikasi yang akan dibenamkan oleh Apple. Namun yang jelas, Apple terlihat sangat fokus membenamkan banyak teknologi baru di iPhone 4G. (rah)

Samsung Galaxy Spica Tiba di Indonesia

VIVAnews - Samsung Galaxy Spica, ponsel berbasis Android pertama Samsung, hari ini diluncurkan PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) di Grand Indonesia, Jakarta. Menggandeng lima operator, khusus di hari peluncurannya, Samsung menawarkan harga spesial, Rp 2,99 juta.

Seperti disiarkan VIVAnews sebelumnya, Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica  merupakan ponsel layar sentuh capacitive sebesar 3,2 inci (320x480 piksel) berbasiskan OS Android v1.5 (Cupcake) yang beroperasi di GSM 850/900/1800/1900 dan HSDPA 900/2100.

Dirilis Samsung pada November 2009 silam, ponsel panjang berdimensi 115x57x13,2 mm dan berat 124 gram ini ditenagai prosesor berkekuatan 800 MHz dengan memori internal 180 MB yang bisa diupgrade menjadi 32GB dengan micro SD.

Di sisi konektivitas, Spica menyuguhkan akses data 3G HSDPA (3,6 Mbps), EDGE class 12, GPRS class 12, lengkap dengan WLAN Wi-fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, dan microUSB v2.0. Produsen asal Korea ini juga menyisipkan kamera 3,15 MP (2048x1536 piksel) dan A-GPS support pada ponsel bertenaga 1500 mAh ini.

Meskipun sempat beredar di Eropa dengan harga sekitar Rp 4,2 juta, SEIN membanderolnya dengan harga Rp 3,49 juta (harga normal). Namun, khusus hari ini, Galaxy Spica ditawarkan dengan harga Rp 2,99 juta, serta program cicilan 0% dengan kartu kredit Bank Mandiri.

“Kerja sama kami dengan para operator adalah untuk mendukung akses data Galaxy Spica. Beberapa di antaranya bahkan menawarkan paket Internet unlimited,” kata Pambudi BS, HHPPM & VAS Samsung Electronics Indonesia, pada wartawan di sela Peluncuran Samsung Galaxy Spica di Jakarta, Sabtu 27 Februari 2010.

Adapun kelima operator selular yang digandeng Samsung kali ini meliputi XL, Indosat, Telkomsel, 3, dan Axis. Namun, hanya Telkomsel yang tak memiliki layanan unlimited untuk pelanggan prabayar.

Samsung Ingin Ciptakan Komunitas Android

 

 

 

VIVAnews - Meskipun saat ini telah ada komunitas sistem operasi ponsel Android bernama ID Android di id-android@googlegroups.com, Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) bersikukuh untuk menciptakan komunitas baru khusus penggila dan penggandrung ponsel Android Samsung, termasuk Galaxy Spica.

Rencana itu diungkapkan Pambudi BS, HHPPM & VAS Samsung Electronics Indonesia saat ditemui VIVAnews di sela Peluncuran Samsung Galaxy Spica di Jakarta, 27 Februari 2010.

“Seiring membangun tren pasar, kami ingin menciptakan komunitasnya, tetapi khusus pengguna ponsel Android Samsung,” kata Budi. “Tetapi, karena sementara ini Samsung hanya memiliki satu varian ponsel berbasis sistem operasi open platform besutan Google tersebut, kemungkinan besar anggotanya hanya sebatas pemilik Samsung Galaxy Spica saja,” ucapnya.

Untuk memikat pengguna Galaxy Spica agar mau bergabung dengan komunitas ekslusifnya, kata Budi, Samsung akan memberikan nilai lebih. “Misalnya, mereka akan menerima info-info terbaru mengenai line-up ponsel Samsung yang akan rilis, atau ditawarkan aplikasi dan konten baru. Secara teknis, kami akan support penuh kebutuhan mereka,” ucapnya.

Budi menyebutkan, komunitas yang dibentuknya nanti akan sangat membantu para pengguna baru, terutama yang masih merasa asing dengan Android.

“Dalam waktu dekat, sekitar bulan Maret, kami akan selenggarakan acara gathering,” kata Budi “Di sana, para anggota akan kami edukasi tentang Samsung Android, termasuk bagaimana mengoptimalisasi pemakaiannya, dan apa saja keunggulannya,” ucapnya.

Tak hanya itu, Budi juga menjanjikan bagi anggota komunitas yang hadir akan diberi kesempatan untuk mengupgrade OS Android pada Samsung Galaxy Spica, dari versi 1.5 (Cupcake) menjadi 2.1 (Eclaire) secara cuma-cuma.

Google Releases Experimental Phone to Employees

In a blog post on Saturday morning, Google said the phones are being distributed so that workers can experiment with new mobile features. It did not say the device will be a Google-branded phone.

But in a Twitter message earlier, a Google employee who said she has the phone referred to it as a "Google phone," fuelling the latest speculation.
Since even before Google unveiled Android, onlookers wondered if the search giant would release its own phone. Instead, it released an open source operating system that other hardware vendors can use to make phones.
In the Google blog post, Mario Queiroz, a vice president of product management, said the company gave the phone to employees as a way to test new technologies.
"We recently came up with the concept of a mobile lab, which is a device that combines innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new mobile features and capabilities, and we shared this device with Google employees across the globe," he wrote. "This means they get to test out a new technology and help improve it."
He said he could not share specific details about the product.
The post appeared to be a response to a Twitter message posted by a Google employee Friday evening, who said she had the phone. The post, first reported by TechCrunch, sparked the new round of speculation.
"ZOMG we had fireworks and we all got the new Google phone. It's beautiful," wrote Leslie Hawthorn, a program manager on Google's open source team.
While the term "Google phone" has been used to describe a device built and branded by Google, many also use the term to refer to any phone running Android. So it was unclear if Hawthorne was talking about a device that will be branded and sold by Google.
A podcast producer for CNET said Friday he had seen one of the phones, adding to the speculation. The hardware is made by HTC and running Android 2.1, the next generation of the software, Jason Howell wrote in a Twitter message. The phones were given to employees unlocked and the one he saw was running on AT&T's network, he said. Because it is unlocked, workers could also choose to use T-Mobile.
"It was thin. Dare I say as if not a bit thinner than iPhone," he wrote. The phone used an on-screen keyboard instead of a hardware keyboard. He said Google was expected to reveal more details in the next few days.

Ubuntu Linux Now Available to Fed Customers on GSA Advantage

Canonical's Ubuntu has become third Linux operating system approved by the General Services Administration for use by federal purchasers. It joins Linux distributions from Red Hat and Novell, already available through the GSA Advantage purchasing program. "This gives government purchasers the option of using Canonical's Ubuntu as well as its Landscape systems management and monitoring tool," said Cole Crawford, CTO of Autonomic Resources, an IT and service integration company approved to offer the products to federal customers.


Landscape will be offered as part of Autonomic’s cloud computing platform for government customers. The infrastructure-as-a-service platform provides government customers with simplified computing power, storage and supporting infrastructure that can be acquired and utilized on-demand all from FISMA certified data centers with standard multi-factor authentication access.
"As adoption of the Cloud continues and the need for simplified infrastructure management grows, organizations will be looking for tools that work for physical and virtual assets,” Crawford said. "Landscape offers a simple, fast and secure solution enabling IT departments throughout the federal government to quickly patch and update systems."
Ubuntu is currently the most popular operating system base for developers building cloud-based computing solutions, Crawford said. The open source operating system is already used in some government agencies, including NASA, but has not been widely available as it lacked GSA schedule pricing and support.
The addition of Ubuntu isn't expected to drastically alter the U.S. government's use of open-source operating systems and tools, but does give the public sector an additional option that private industry has long enjoyed.
Crawford said he could not estimate the potential value of Ubuntu sales to the federal government. His company is also a partner with Novell and Red Hat in supporting public sector customers.

Jet 'Ransel' Dipasarkan Rp717 Juta

WELLINGTON - Kemacetan hingga saat ini masih menjadi masalah serius bagi sejumlah kota besar di dunia. Berbagai kebijakan pun dikeluarkan untuk mengatasi kemacetan, tapi hasilnya belum juga maksimal.

Mungkin, hasil karya perusahaan perakitan pesawat Martin Aircraft Company bisa menjadi solusi jitu untuk mengatasi permasalahan kemacetan. Perusahaan tersebut diketahui membuat sebuah peralatan yang memungkinkan seseorang dapat terbang, bahkan hingga ketinggian 2400m dengan kecepatan 60 km per jam.

Jet 'ransel' itu akan dipasarkan secara komersial oleh Martin Aircraft Company. rencananya perlengkapan terbang tersebut akan dijual sekira 50 ribu poundsterling atau sekira Rp717 juta. Untuk sementara Martin Aircraft hanya memproduksi 500 jet 'ransel' per tahun. Demikian dilansir Telegraph, Kamis (25/2/2010).

Berat peralatan tersebut sekira 254 pon atau 115 kg.

Untuk menerbangkannya, pun pembeli tak perlu memiliki izin terbang laiknya pilot. Cukup mengenakan perlengkapan senilai Rp717 seseorang dapat terbang sejauh 30 mil hanya dalam 30 menit.

"Bagi kami ini adalah langkah terbaik dengan memasarkannya secara komersial, alat ini sangat cocok untuk kondisi-kondisi darurat atau kebutuhan militer," kata Richard Lauder, CEO martin Aircraft Company. (srn)

September, LG Munculkan Ponsel WinMo 7

SEOUL - LG diprediksi akan menjadi vendor pertama yang mengeluarkan ponsel berbasis sistem operasi Windows Mobile 7. Seperti yang telah dijanjikan Steve Ballmer, ponsel-ponsel Windows Mobile7 akan meramaikan pasar ponsel di akhir 2010.

Bila, LG mengeluarkan ponsel yang akan diberi nama LG Apollo tersebut pada September 2010 maka LG akan menyisihkan vendor lain dalam produksi handset berbasis sistem operasi keluaran Microsoft tersebut.

Techtree, Jumat (26/2/2010) melansir, selain LG sejumlah vendor seperti HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Dell, garmin-Asus, Toshiba dan HP juga melirik Windows 7 sebagai platform ponsel buatannya.

LG sendiri berupaya untuk menduduki posisi tiga besar vendor dunia. vendor ponsel asal Korea Selatan tersebut, bekerjasama dengan pengembang sistem operasi untuk dibenamkan di ponselnya. Selain Windows Mobile LG djuga telah meluncurkan ponsel berbasis Android, diantaranya adalah LG GW620

Sementara itu, LG juga takkan mengikuti jejak pesaing utamanya Samsung yang telah mengembangkan sistem operasi sendiri yakni Bada. LG menilai tidak ada banyak ruang untuk OS baru di segmen OS smartphone yang sudah ada. Saat ini diketahui OS smartphone dikuasai oleh Symbian, Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone OS dan Blackberry. LG percaya bahwa dalam waktu dekat, hanya tiga OS'es akan bertahan dan tetap populer. (ugo)
